FRUITY CRISP
Fruity crisp is a simple, light, and healthy dessert ideal for summer outdoor entertainment. The preparation time is about 10 minutes, plus the time in the oven. It is flourless, sugar-free, and gluten-free.
Ingredients:
- 4 fresh plums
- 4 fresh nectarines
- 1 tsp fresh or concentrated lemon juice
Crisp:
- 1 stick of frozen margarine
- ½ cup sliced almonds
- ½ cup cut walnuts
- ½ cup whole grain oats
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of ground cloves
- 1 tbsp Splenda®
Directions:
- Slice fruits, mix them with lemon juice, and place in a 2-inch deep baking dish.
- Mix all dry ingredients of the crisp, and cut 1/2-inch pieces of frozen margarine into the mix. Chop with a knife until crumbs form.
- Tip the crumble on the fruit without pressing it down.
- Bake 25-30 minutes at 380° F, or until the top is browned and the fruit juices bubble. Serve warm or cold.

- There is no thickener (starch), sugar, or flour in this dessert with fruits recipe, which makes it Low Glycemic
- Other fruits you can use: peaches, apples, or pears. Just note, that if you use apples soften them first on medium-low heat on the stove for 8- 10 minutes. Other fruits don’t need that.
- To make it even lighter, you can skip the margarine and make the crisp using the dry ingredients only. The outcome is slightly different, but this healthy dessert with fruits will be still flavorful and delicious.
