Pears in red wine is a lovely light dessert. It can be served warm or cold. Do not contain high glycemic ingredients like sugar, white flour, or starches. They are light, yummy, and easy to make. Pear is a low-calorie fruit rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and essential minerals.

Ingredients

  • 2 pears
  • 2 cups of dry red wine
  • 1/2 cup of strong berry or fruit tea
  • 1 tbsp of fructose
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 2 whole cloves
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 orange
  • ½ cup of sunflower seeds

Instructions

  • Peel the pears and cut them into 4 parts longwise
  • Pour wine, tea, spices, fructose, and the zest from half of the orange into a small pan. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat.
  • Add pears and continue boiling for 10-12 minutes
  • Transfer pears into individual glass forms
  • Sift the liquid to remove the boiled spices
  • Squeeze juice from half of the orange into the warm liquid
  • Pour the liquid into individual dishes over the pears
