CAROB WAFFLES with DARK CHOCOLATE and STRAWBERRIES
Project Description
CAROB WAFFLES with DARK CHOCOLATE and STRAWBERRIES
Carob waffles are made with carob powder – the product of the carob tree which has a ripe, dried pod that contains a sweet, edible pulp. Once dried and roasted, the pulp is ground into a powder.
Carob has some benefits over cocoa:
-
It is naturally sweet and much sweeter than cocoa, so far no need for additional sweeteners
-
It is low in fat and high in fiber
-
It is caffeine-free and not an allergen as chocolate can
