TACO SALAD WRAPS
Taco salad is an excellent appetizer for the 4th of July picnic and other outdoor occasions. However, we got to skip a traditional taco and use healthier options. I use whole-grain wraps in this recipe.
TACO SALAD WRAPS
Ingredients
- 1 pound of ground chicken
- 1 shredded romaine lettuce
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 bunch of green onions
- ½ of chopped parsley
- ½ cup of sour cream
- 1 cup of grated Gouda or Cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- salt & pepper
- olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Cut white ends of green onion into small rings, cook on olive oil until goldish brown
- Add meat and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring to break up the meat into small pieces. Add salt, chili powder, and cumin.
- Set aside draining an extra liquid and fat
- Arrange layers of lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, meat, parsley, cheese,and sour cream longwise the wrap, and roll it up as shown in the video.
- Cut with a big cooking knife into 1.5 inch pieces and transfer to the serving plate
