GREEK MEAT PATTIES with FETA

Greek meat patties made with feta and lemon zest, but bread-crumbs-free. No bad carbs, only protein with fat, and tomato highlights.

GREEK MEAT PATTIES with FETA

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small zucchini
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped oregano
  • ¼ cup Feta crumbs (starch-free)
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lemon
  • pinch of salt and black pepper
  • 2 plum tomatoes

Instructions

  • Grate the zucchini and drain the juice as shown in the video
  • Grate half of the lemon zest using a small grater
  • Add all other ingredients and mix well until the mixture is homogeneous
  • Form patties about 1.5 in diameter
  • Place on a baking sheet covered with baking paper
  • Cut tomatoes and place one slice on each patty. Salt and pepper the tomatoes.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes in a preheated to 425*F oven

Notes

In this video, I baked patties for 10 minutes without tomatoes, then for 15 more minutes with tomatoes. But I realized that placing tomatoes on the patties from the beginning works better.
