GROUND BEEF with RED BEANS

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ large green bell pepper
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • several green scallions
  • salt, black pepper
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ¼ pound of smoked Gouda
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  • Cut onion into small cubes, place into preheated skilled with olive oil
  • Cut garlic cloves into small pieces, and add to the onions in the skillets
  • Start adding a ground beef in small portions, and mix constantly, breaking into small pieces
  • Add the peppers
  • Add one can of red beans
  • Spice with salt, turmeric, and chili powder
  • Cook for several more minutes, constantly mixing
  • Distribute between individual ceramic bowls
  • Grate the cheese
  • Sprinkle the mix in the bowls with green onions and cheese
  • Transfer to a preheated to 380*F oven for 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted
